Aimpoint Comp M4

Aimpoint CompM4 vs. CompM4s

OK, so the only difference is that the “S” has the low battery compartment. To me, that makes sense has the high compartment looks like it would be more easily snagged on things.

This may be a dumb question, but is there an advantage to the high compartment that I am missing?

Or is there an obvious disadvantage to the low compartment that my in-experience doesn’t see?

Thanks for the comments!!

I have had both issued and the current one on my dusty Aimpoint Comp M4 is the M4S. I just like the battery and switch down low out of the way and more out of the field of view. YMMV

The problems I have read, is the high mount can block a bit of vision, so it was moved to the bottom mount.
The bottom mount might interfere with using a magnifier or NV scope.
I don’t plan on using either, so I ordered a M4S.

The main reason I chose the M4s is because I think it looks better (more streamlined, I guess). I have never used an M4, but I could see how the battery compartment on top could block some of your FOV. Also, the bottom compartment will not interfere with a magnifier (I have no experience with NV).
